1. Application of Terms
These Terms and Conditions (“Terms”) apply where Autotrust Vehicle Inspections (“Autotrust”, “we”, “us”, “our”) supplies pre-purchase vehicle inspections or related services (“Services”) to a customer (“you”, “your”, “Customer”). By requesting or using our Services, you acknowledge and agree to be legally bound by these Terms.
2. General
2.1 By booking an inspection service with Autotrust, you agree to be bound by these Terms and Conditions.
2.2 Autotrust reserves the right to amend these Terms at any time. Changes will take effect upon being published on our website. You are responsible for reviewing the latest Terms prior to booking our Services.
3. Services Provided
3.1 Autotrust provides independent, mobile pre-purchase vehicle inspections, which may include the following:
3.2 All inspections are visual and non-invasive. We do not dismantle vehicle parts or systems unless specifically agreed in writing.
4. Limitations of Inspection
4.1 Inspections are based on the condition of the vehicle at the time of assessment. No representation or warranty is made regarding future performance or condition.
4.2 Certain issues, particularly internal engine wear, intermittent faults, or hidden damage (e.g. rust or electrical faults inside panels), may not be detectable during a visual inspection.
5. Booking and Payment
5.1 Bookings can be made through our website, by phone, or by email. Full payment is required at the time of booking to confirm your inspection.
5.2 All prices are quoted in Australian dollars (AUD) and include GST unless otherwise stated. Prices may be subject to change without prior notice.
6. Cancellation and Refund Policy
6.1 Cancellations made more than 24 hours before the scheduled appointment are eligible for a full refund.
6.2 Cancellations made within 24 hours of the scheduled appointment may incur a cancellation fee equivalent to 50% of the inspection fee.
6.3 No refund will be issued once the inspector has arrived on-site or if access to the vehicle is denied by the seller or representative.
7. Inspection Reports
7.1 Reports are delivered electronically, usually within 24 hours of the completed inspection. Delays may occur due to technical issues or unforeseen events.
7.2 The inspection report is a summary of the findings and does not constitute a certificate of roadworthiness or mechanical warranty.
8. Use of Reports
8.1 Reports are prepared solely for the paying customer’s personal use and may not be shared, distributed, or published publicly without our prior written consent.
8.2 Autotrust accepts no responsibility for decisions made by third parties based on the contents of any report.
9. Liability
9.1 To the extent permitted by law, Autotrust is not liable for:
9.2 Autotrust’s total liability under any circumstance is strictly limited to the amount paid for the specific inspection service.
10. Right to Terminate Inspection
10.1 Autotrust reserves the right to immediately suspend or terminate any inspection, either partially or in full, at its sole discretion, in circumstances where continuing the inspection may pose a risk to personal safety, property, or breach legal obligations under the Occupational Health and Safety Act 2004 (Vic), the Work Health and Safety Act 2011 (Cth), or related regulatory standards.
10.2 Circumstances that may lead to termination include, but are not limited to:
10.3 Where an inspection is terminated under this clause, Autotrust will notify the Customer of the reason for termination in writing and may, at its discretion, provide a partial refund or reschedule the inspection, depending on the extent of the work already performed.
10.4 The Customer acknowledges that this clause is enacted in accordance with the duty of care provisions and workplace safety obligations of Autotrust and its agents, and releases Autotrust from any liability associated with termination decisions made under this clause.
11. Intellectual Property
11.1 All content on our website, reports, templates, logos, graphics, and materials are the property of Autotrust and protected under intellectual property laws.
11.2 You may not copy, reproduce, modify, or publish any material without our prior written permission.
12. Governing Law and Jurisdiction
12.1 These Terms and Conditions are governed by the laws of the State of Victoria, Australia.
12.2 You agree to submit to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Victoria for the resolution of any disputes.
